Geohazard supersites portál

Nagymértékű kockázatot vagy kiterjedt károk okozását magában rejtő földtani állapot helyszíneinek globális méretű nyilvántartását célul kitűző Geohazard supersites internetes portál egy nemzetközi projektösszefogás eredménye. A szolgáltatás lehetőségeinek kiaknázására folytat együttműködést az Európai Űrügynökség (ESA), a  CERN, a francia CNES, a német DLR és olasz CNR. Erről tájékoztatott a HelixNebula, egy, a CERN-hez kötődő alakulat. A szolgáltatás illeszkedik a GEOSS világméretű akciótervének végrehajtásába.

HelixNebula,  mint tudományos felhőszolgáltatást biztosító szervezet, aktív résztvevője volt a szeptember 20-án tartott ESA-GEOSS "vision and architecture" munkaértekezletének, melyen a HUNAGI főtitkára a CEOS WGISSS képviseletében vett részt. A GEO-nak mára 90 ország a tagja, Magyarország 2006-ban 67. országként csatlakozott. A genfi székhelyű szervezet munkáját 67 szakmai szervezet, köztük az ISPRS, OGC, GSDI és a Nemzetközi Digitális Föld Társaság (ISDE) segíti.
